Taxi Safety & Security Course Certificates Awarded by Oldham Mayor Cllr Eddie Moores
On 17 November 2025, members of Oldham Dual Drivers Unity (ODDU) attended a special certificate award ceremony at the Oldham Council Chamber to mark the successful completion of the Taxi Safety & Security Course. This course was organised by ODDU Training Officer, Surat Ali (Badsha), in conjunction with the Chadderton Central Councillors, as part of ODDU’s ongoing commitment to improving safety, professionalism, and standards within the taxi trade.
A total of 25 ODDU members successfully completed the course, which was delivered by Clearwatch Security. The training provided valuable knowledge and practical guidance to help drivers enhance passenger safety, personal security, and incident awareness while carrying out their duties.
The certificates were proudly presented by the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Eddie Moores, whose presence added great significance to the occasion. We are sincerely grateful to the Mayor for attending the ceremony and making the event truly special. As part of the occasion, ODDU also made a £200 donation to the Mayor’s Appeal, reflecting the organisation’s dedication to supporting the wider community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Cllr Mohon Ali, Cllr Mohammed Nazrul Islam, and Cllr Elaine Taylor for their support and assistance in organising the course. Our appreciation also goes to Ash Mahmoud and Kashif Ashraf of Clearwatch Security for delivering the training in a professional and engaging manner. We are equally thankful to Cllr Abdul Jabbar MBE and Cllr Abdul Malik for attending the ceremony and showing their support for ODDU members.
A special note of gratitude is due to all ODDU members and councillors whose support and cooperation made this initiative possible. Events like this demonstrate the strength of partnership between the community, elected representatives, and local organisations.
The evening concluded with a celebratory meal at Moza Bites Restaurant in Oldham, bringing everyone together in an atmosphere of unity, appreciation, and shared achievement.
This was a proud milestone for Oldham Dual Drivers Unity, reaffirming our commitment to safety, community engagement, and teamwork — and we look forward to delivering more initiatives that benefit our members and the wider public.
